For a large Belgian enterprise we are looking for a senior Enterprise Architect to strengthen the architecture governance within an international group IT organisation.

Your role

• Define and continuously improve the architecture governance framework: principles, standards, policies and reference architectures, with a clear decision workflow via the Architecture Review Board (ARB)
• Translate group-level platform guardrails into practical guidance for local delivery teams
• Conduct trade-off and cost-benefit analyses (e.g. ATAM, CBAM) to deliver well-founded architectural recommendations
• Maintain the enterprise architecture repository and architecture decision records (ADR) as a single source of truth
• Perform architecture alignment assessments at project kick-off and key milestones (go/no-go recommendations) and run compliance reviews during delivery
• Contribute to the enterprise-wide IT roadmap and the Architecture Vision Document
• Govern enterprise data architecture standards: data modelling, integration patterns and data governance
• Coach other architects and act as the link between business, IT, architecture and infrastructure teams

Your profile

• 10+ years of experience as Enterprise Architect
• Proven experience facilitating ARB sessions and producing decision packs
• Strong knowledge of TOGAF, ArchiMate, ITIL and Domain-Driven Design
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, platform governance, microservices and event-driven architecture
• Familiar with modeling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect or SAP LeanIX
• Knowledge of Gartner frameworks (e.g. TIME) is a plus, as is experience in M&A transformation contexts
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills, from delivery teams up to senior management
• Fluent in English; French, Dutch or German is a plus
• Non-EU candidates must hold a valid Belgian work and residence permit

• Location: Brussels, 2 days onsite per week (occasional international travel, fully covered)
• Fulltime, freelance
