Business Transformation Analyst – Digital Innovation & AI (Freelance)

Be the bridge between business and IT at one of Belgium's leading energy-infrastructure player and use AI to push their digital transformation into a higher gear.

The mission Our client is a major independent player in Belgian energy infrastructure, scaling its digital transformation through an internal innovation team built on design thinking, fusion teams and agile. You'll embed with business teams, expose their real pain points, and challenge their vision until it's sharp. You spot digital and AI opportunities, connect the dots across initiatives, and translate business needs into briefs IT can actually run with,  keeping everything aligned with the wider digital ambition.

This isn't a gather-requirements-and-disappear gig. You're in the room, shaping where things go.

What you'll do

• Map the business context before anything moves.
• Run stakeholder interviews and workshops to surface and formalize real needs.
• Help teams shape a clear, ambitious, IT-ready TO-BE vision.
• Scout and evaluate digital and AI opportunities, and pressure-test feasibility.
• Translate needs into sharp briefs for IT and keep both sides aligned.
• Build deliverables that make complex topics land with senior stakeholders.
• Support adoption so new ways of working stick.

What you bring

• Master's in a relevant field (Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, IS Management).
• Solid track record as a business analyst, functional analyst or digital consultant.
• Experience running interviews, workshops and requirements sessions.
• Comfortable with design thinking; strong analytical and conceptual thinker.
• Outstanding stakeholder management — you challenge, inspire and build trust.
• Fluent in English and Dutch, good command of French.
