Agile Coach – Freelance Assignment (Brussels)

Your role

As Agile Coach, you take the lead in guiding teams and individuals through a meaningful agile transformation. You combine the hands-on work of a Scrum Master for one product team with the broader responsibility of coaching the wider product group. You don't just facilitate ceremonies — you challenge, mentor and unblock at every level of the organization.

Concretely, you will:

• Mentor Scrum Masters and help them evolve from event facilitators into true servant-leaders who drive change within their teams.
• Coach Product Owners in moving beyond backlog management towards product vision, stakeholder negotiation and empirical planning.
• Accelerate team maturity, guiding teams from forming to performing with a strong focus on self-organization, ownership and conflict resolution.
• Tackle systemic impediments — governance, budgeting, silos — and influence decision-makers to implement structural change.

Your profile

You're a seasoned coach who has seen agile work (and fail) in real, complex environments. You bring vision, but you also listen. You're pragmatic enough to adapt the methodology to the context, and confident enough to challenge what isn't working.

• 10+ years of experience in Agile environments, including at least 5 years as Enterprise or Lead Agile Coach
• Deep, practical understanding of LeSS (Large-Scale Scrum) and the organizational design implications of scaling agile
• Proven track record in training and mentoring junior coaches and Scrum Masters
• Solid experience coaching teams in product development and product management within software delivery
• Strong communication skills across all stakeholder levels — from team members to senior leadership
• Comfortable navigating multi-team environments and managing conflict constructively
• Fluent in French or Dutch, and English
