Freelance .NET Technical Lead | Brussels | ASAP

About the role
We are looking for an experienced .NET Technical Lead for a long-term mission at a leading organisation in the financial sector. You will join a dynamic backend team and play a central role in driving technical quality, team development and cross-divisional coordination.

This is a hands-on leadership role where technical depth and communication skills go hand in hand.

Your responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a team of .NET developers (junior & medior)
• Organise and facilitate technical workshops to share knowledge and best practices
• Act as SPOC for transversal technical initiatives and cross-team integrations
• Support application lifecycle management and .NET framework migrations (e.g. .NET 6 → 8+)
• Conduct code reviews and enforce quality standards
• Collaborate with architects to define technical solutions
• Drive performance improvements on critical applications
• Ensure structured communication to project leaders, analysts and developers
• Contribute to technical and process documentation

Your profile
• Minimum 8 years of experience in .NET backend development (Web APIs & background worker processes)
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Integration Services
• Strong expertise in .NET C# and Entity Framework
• Solid knowledge of Azure Messaging and Azure Active Directory
• Experience with .NET Core and migrations to recent framework versions
• Comfortable leading workshops and speaking in front of a developer audience
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French is a plus

Nice to have
• Background in insurance or financial services
• Experience with client/customer data platforms
